Nicki joined the Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drug team as Regional Prevention Coordinator (RPC) for the West Central Region in June 2020. She graduated from Bemidji State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Psychology. Partnering with families and communities in supporting strength-based change has been a passion throughout her career. Prior to becoming an RPC, Nicki was the Youth and Family Service Worker at the Pine River-Backus Elementary School.

Region 3 Host Site
The West Central MN RPC (Region 3) is hosted by the Pine River-Backus Family Center, located in Pine River, MN. Their mission is Strengthening Families and Building a Strong Community so that all families have what they need to reach their full potential and contribute to their community. The Family Center strongly invests their programming into prevention by starting their programming prenatally with their certified Home Visiting-Parent Child Home Program, have co-located public health programs to keep families healthy, implement the Parenting Love & Logic Way curriculum, and providing Family Support through hosting the local food shelf, which reduces barriers and stress with families. The Family Center is also the host for the substance abuse prevention Working Together Coalition.
