David is the Metro and SE Minnesota RPC. Before becoming an RPC, David was involved in numerous health and substance misuse prevention programs such as DARE (Itasca County), Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Grant Coordinator, Standing Together Embracing Prevention coalition member (Deer River), and a Forward Health Foundation board member (Deer River). As a DFC Coordinator, he helped launch a rebrand of the community's youth group, Step Up Deer River (stepupdeerriver.org.) David has been coaching youth basketball for over 25 years, including seven years as a head varsity coach, and just recently a silver medalist at the North American Indigenous Games in Nova Scotia. David has an Associate of Arts degree from Itasca Community College and is a Special Education Major at Bethel University.

Cohort 5 Host Site

The Cohort 5 RPC is hosted by the Association for Nonsmokers – MN (ANSR) in Saint Paul. Founded in 1973, ANSR is dedicated to improving the health of all Minnesotans with a focus on prevention of disease. ANSR utilizes the full range of tools to achieve that goal including advocacy, public policy, education, training, and technical assistance. The organization is responsible for establishing the Ramsey Tobacco Coalition and building programs such as Live Smoke-Free, Tobacco-Free Youth Recreation, Project WATCH, and Tobacco-Free Campus. www.ansrmn.org
